Exploring the effect of AMIRA LEARNING in Reducing Reading Anxiety and Improving Reading Ability in Mexican Children

When reading is mentally taxing and unenjoyable, especially in school settings, children might develop anxiety towards reading due to fear of being bullied or perceived as “underachievers.” Amira Learning, an AI reading tutor, with capabilities for listening to the child read aloud and provide entertaining and interactive feedback has partnered with CERES . CERES researchers and trainees have partnered with Amira Learning in Mexican schools to help children overcome such challenges. This research team will study if Amira can reduce reading anxiety and inattention to potentially improve reading ability in children with ADHD and typically developing children (Neurotypical- NT) in Mexico. The results of this study will offer insights towards the use of AI reading tutors as an alternative way for accessible education in Mexico.
