Focus Groups to Design a Youth-Led Measure of Adolescents’ Experiences as Social Media Users
About
Our one-year project will address this gap in the literature by running focus groups with adolescents of different socio-demographic backgrounds, genders and ages to inform the development of a user-centric youth-led questionnaire on social media use. By placing adolescents at the heart of the measurement design process, we will support research in producing more ecologically valid data, which could ultimately improve guidelines on the use and regulation of social media use. Our work will, therefore, directly feed into the existing gap between research, policy and clinical practice in the social media space.
