Research Focus/Background:
Garvin Brod holds a joint appointment as a Professor of Psychology at DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education and Goethe University Frankfurt. At DIPF, he directs the Individualized Interventions Laboratory. His research examines psychological interventions with the goal of improving educational prospects of children.
Problem/goals to address as part of CERES:
Digital learning environments offer many new opportunities to better meet the needs of individual learners. But they also offer a number of new distractions. Good self-regulation is thus central to the effective use of digital learning environments. As part of CERES, Garvin will test digital interventions that can support children’s self regulation in digital learning environments.
Location of Research Projects: Germany, Switzerland
When Not Working: He likes to take long walks in the vineyards with his child or dog (but not with both together!).
