Research Focus/Background:
Candice Odgers is a Professor of Psychological Science and Informatics at the University of California Irvine. She leads the CERES network with Gillian Hayes and spends the rest of her time studying adolescents’ health and learning in daily life using streaming data from mobile phones and wearable devices.
Problem/goals to address as part of CERES: Adolescents and children are early and enthusiastic adopters of digital technologies, but the online world is too often not designed with them in mind. As part of CERES, Candice will be testing how digital technologies can be leveraged to support key aspects of children’s learning and development, while also reducing growing divides in children’s online and offline lives.
Location of Research Projects: Britain, Canada, New Zealand, the United States
When Not Working: She can be found running with her very large and poorly trained puppy on the beach.
